Tips for Booking a Flight
Give me your tips for booking a flight!
I need to book 3 flights to LAX in August and the tickets are close to $500 each (including bags).

Tips for Booking a Flight
Did you check Southwest? When I checked recently was only $1,000 for 3 people, bags included. But you do have a layover. Usually if you travel a Tuesday to Tuesday that's the cheapest

Thanks but I can't do a layover with the kids - it will be torture for them and more importantly me and my DH - lol.

I hear ya..unfortunately without a layover that is probably the best price you are going to get in the Summer! I have two kids and used to dread a layover, but I actually don't mind it now. I absolutely hate sitting for long periods though and welcome the walking around. I will only book flights with a very short layover though. An hour or less!

Tips for Booking a Flight
the past few times i've booked flights, i used Kayak.com. its basically just a search engine that searches different airlines prices and gives them to you. you put in the dates you're gong and where you're flying in and out of. when the price is good for you, you can go to that airline's site and book right through the airline. its just nice bc it saves your from searching all different airlines. i just go on kayak.com once or twice a day and run a search (only takes 30 seconds) and eventually a good price will show up. just booked to go to orlando for $234 a person (it had been over $300 for awhile, then one time i searched and $234 came up and i was like " sold!!" HAHA

Re: Tips for Booking a Flight
This may sound crazy but if you book wee hours of the morning(check Delta website at 2am) the price tends to drop instead of 6pm when everyone else is trying to shop flights. Also certain days of the week the prices are lower.
