Time off for Dr. Appointments?
Do you find yourself taking a lot of time off from work for your appoinments? I had to leave work 1/2 day for my Anatomy Scan; had to take another full day off to go back a second time. My 24 week appointment had to be rescheduled from the evening until the day time (dr office conflict) so now I'll have to leave work 1/2 day that day. So collectivelly that's only 2 days off so far.
I'm only 24 weeks...I'm trying to save up time for the end in case i'm uncomfortable or too big or just don't feel like coming to work a random day espeically if it's snowing or bad weather before i'm due!
I have 5 sick days left for the year; plus 4 vacation days. Trying to use those days wisely...

Re: Time off for Dr. Appointments?
I make my peri apts at the end of the day and I'm able to switch my hours to get an hour early. My OB has late hours so I can make apts after work.

Re: Time off for Dr. Appointments?
i set up almost all of my appointments to be the first appt in the morning [9am] and i just go into work right after. I am usually only about 2 hours late and am able to make up the time during the week
my OB has night appts [i believe their last appt is 8 or 9pm during the week] but DH works nights so i just stuck with the early appts

Re: Time off for Dr. Appointments?
ive been pretty lucky and am able to see my obgyn at 7:30am which still lets me get to work on time. i have scheduled my scans for 6pm which means i leave an hour early (4pm) and just dont take lunch.

Re: Time off for Dr. Appointments?
My office doesn't require me to use vacation time for drs appts. I can usually get to the dr and back to my office in 1 hour (90 minutes, tops), so it's just like I took a long lunch.
If I had to use vacation time, I'd make all my appts before or after work.

Re: Time off for Dr. Appointments?
I try to set early appointments or late ones. But as that doesnt always work i do take time off. luckily my drs office is close to work so i am able to only take an hour or so or go on my lunch break some times.
now that i am in my last 2 months and i have more frequent appointments, i found that i am taking whatever appointment time they have for me with the dr I like because i'd rather take off time from work than see a dr who i have to explain everything to again.

Re: Time off for Dr. Appointments?
yeah, i do. i'm able to do my prenatal appts before work, but now have to see a hemotologist weekly, and she only sees patients during the day.
luckily, i have a very understanding boss. i also often work late due to client requests, so it all works out in the end.

Time off for Dr. Appointments?
One of my conditions for picking a OB was office hours that i didnt have to take so much time off... I have an appt today but not till 630. My boss is amazing though, he doesnt care as long as i get my work done.

Time off for Dr. Appointments?
One of the perks of working retail I have found is that I can make my Doc Appts whenever I want, I just ask them to put me on a later shift that day...

My appointments are always schedule in the evening to I never have to miss work. For blood work I just go during lunch time and get it done.

Time off for Dr. Appointments?
Yes, I have to see my endocrinologist during the day and it usually takes a few hours so I just take the day off.

Time off for Dr. Appointments?
Thanks-i do have an OB office with evening hours; but unfortunately my 24 week appointment was canceled at the last minute only leaving daytime slots available. I was able to reschedule to Friday at 8:30am; i'll just go into work 2 hours late; and won't have to use any of my time!

Time off for Dr. Appointments?
During my previous pregnancies I would schedule all appointments in the evening. I recently switched gyns and one of the criterias had to have evening appointments.

Time off for Dr. Appointments?
Ive been lucky my regular ob has later hours..... the specialists though ( ARGHHHH) started around 27 weeks, those I try and book first in the morning appts, so I'm not too late, then make up time durring lunch and at end of day....
things like the level 2 I had to take half a day for, which sucks cause its bad enough a week of vacation is being used for first week of maternity leave

Time off for Dr. Appointments?
I have been able to see my OB at either 8:30am or 5:30pm which is fine but when I've gone to office where I did the NT Scan/CVS/Amnio/Anatomy Scan I'm always there for like 2 hours and it's in the middle of the day. Luckily my new boss is amazing and she always just says to do whatever I need. She has more of a "doing work" over "doing time" philosophy so as long as my employees are happy and I'm getting done what I need to she's super flexible.
