Time of day for scheduled csec?
What time of day was your scheduled csec? . Mine isn't until 3:00 pm and it's only 4 days before my edd. I'm really annoyed its so late in the afternoon.

I didn't have a csection, but I'd prefer earlier in the day. i would imagine that later in the day you might get delayed more by other scheduled deliveries, thus making you wait more to get started. my girls were born at 10:32pm and 4:17am, which was rough but not the end of the world.

can you ask them to bump you up if there is an opening? morning is def best for a few reasons.. can't eat before, getting bumped back, want the full day in the hosp as part of your billed insurance stay.

I was told to be at the hospital around 10 am and I would go to the OR around12. I knew I was the first case of the day for my MD and that he was coming from a conference or something at another hospital. I know from working in the field that everything is hurry up and wait. So I got there at 10:30, up to the unit from admitting by 11, and in the OR a little after 1.

I asked to be put on a wait list and I was told there isn't such a thing. I can't eat from midnight the day before. I think it's ridiculous to make someone who is pg wait 15 hrs without drinking or eating.

Originally mine was at 3PM also. I was not too happy, but I wanted the specific Doc from the practice I go to and that was the only one I could get.
Plus, you have to fast for 12 hours b4. I knew I'd be starving.
Well, lucky me the day b4 my scheduled c-section the Doc's office called and the woman said they moved me to 10AM. I was thrilled and asked her if it was b/c the 10AM girl went into early labor? 
Yup! She said that's exactly what happened.
I guess it was easier to move the last person first rather than shifting everyone around. Maybe that will happen to you. 
Worked out b/c I had to be in at 8AM and DS was born a little after 10AM.

thats terrible  i would be a PIA and call everyday and ask if anything has opened. since women go into labor naturally and have their C then, there is a good chance that schedule won't remain the same!!

mine was scheduled for DS at 7am. had to be there by 5, he was delivered at 9:06am because of emergency C sections.
DD was scheduled at 7am too, but she came 10 days before her scheduled date (18 days before her due date), i got to L&D by 12-12:30ish and by 3:52pm she was delivered.
i didn't eat with her, because i started getting contractions at 1am and i figured if i was in labor, she would be delivered.
it wasn't hard to go without food for so long... i know it sounds crazy, but i was NOT hungry at all

My first was scheduled at 8am (he was born at 12:17 - emergencies pushed me back).
My second was scheduled at 10am, he was born at 12:42.
This one is scheduled for 2pm and I am not happy either  I have 2 other DC and was able to get them into daycare for the extra day so the grandmothers could both be at the hospital but we live 30+ min away in traffic and I'm SURE I won't go up at 2, it'll be later so it's possible my MIL may have to leave either before the baby is born and / or before she sees him or her to pick them up (and we're team  so this is actually even more of an issue).
I'm going to speak to my OB when I go on Monday, see if he can request an earlier time for me from the scheduler. It's his last day before vacation so I'm hoping to nudge him that way

My second was scheduled for 3:30pm 6 days early, but I got delayed and DS was born at 8:41pm

it's best to the first scheduled patient in the morning so if emergencies come up or the OR gets pushed back, you're still first in line and not waiting around ALL day .........
I think I was originally scheduled for 7 or 8 AM - I was first in line - and i literally RAN into the OR (the nurses and doctors were hysterical) b/c the head nurse called my Dr. in a panic that a twin delivery was being sent in by another doc (not scheduled, she just went into labor I guess) so if he didn't want to get bumped he needed to get me in that OR NOW !! So yeah, I ran ..........
And everyone behind me waited a long long time...........

With DS I was schedule for 1pm, had to be at hospital at 11am. He was born @ 2:34pm.

I think mine was 3pm. IT would have been in the morning but I had to wait for test results. They were born at 6:21 and 6:22, so needless to say I got pushed back a few times.
My second DD wasn't scheduled, I was one the one who pushed other people back ...

My first was 11:30 at 39 weeks 1 day. My repeat was for 11:30 but I got moved up at the last minute to the 9:30 spot. It was at 39 weeks exactly (last Thursday).

we got a call that morning that we could come in earlier for an 11am
DS wasnt actually born until 1:51pm after some delays
