Tile Question

We have tile that is 5 years old in our house (flooring). It was put in by the builder. The people who lived here did not take care of it. The grout is wearing away in a lot of places and there is some staining. There are also a few cracked tiles. One under the fridge which you can barely see and one that is visible by our kitchen table. I have replacement tiles in our garage.

I'm thinking about having someone come in and replace the cracked tiles and re-grout.

Has anyone had their gout re-done? How do they do it? Do they remove all the old grout first? Is it a a big and expensive job?

It's fairly easy to remove grout. Either a grout removing drill, or a bit for a Dremel works fine. You just run the bit along the grout lines, and it just removes it all. Once it's gone, just regrout.

I don't think it's that difficult to regrout at all. My brother did it for me when I bought my co-op. I would def. look into a how to online and see. Is it just the foyer and kitchen? If so it shouldn't take too long. As for the cracked tiles, I would def. call someone for that. GL!
