Thumb suckers...
Megan ONLY s ucks her left thumb. She will NEVER suck the right one.
Now she has developed this discoloration of the skin and its a little raw. When shes playing, she will never put it in her mouth but if shes relaxing and definately when sleeping, she ALWAYS has it in her mouth. I am not worried about trying to stop her at this moment but I was wondering if anyone else's child favors one thumb and if they have the discoloration as well??

Yes, this past week Sarah's was red and raw and chapped. I tried to get her to switch thumbs but that was a no-go. I just kept telling her not to put it in her mouth while she was awake. It's getting better but since she ***** on it in her sleep it's still red.

Andrew's thumb has been the same because of the cold this past week. It doesn't seem to bother him.

DD sucked her thumb until she was 6. I know 
Forever....she had a soft looking nail, and water logged thumb. the color on her thumb was a lighter color than the test of her fingers. Just by looking at it you can see she was a thumb sucker.
And your DD will stop on her own. Once school started my DD stopped. i never pressed the iussue b/c I was a thumb sicker myself and I knew she would reach that point and stop.

My DD ***** both and I want her to STOP. luckily, she only ***** it when she's hungry or going to sleep, but I wanna stop her.
ETA that she's never sucked it to the point that the skin became raw or discolored

my son is 3 and a half and has only and will only suck his left thumb. its red and raw and chapped. and theres no stopping him. lol.

Yes, Jake has a preference also and because of that discoloration and chapped skin. But it's gotten better as he's been doing it less and less.

DD#1 is 7 and still $ucks her fingers. She $ucks the middle and ring finger on her left hand ONLY! She has lost her fingernails on those fingers twice and they are very soft thin nails. Her fingers are actually a funny shape and her skin is a little wierd on them too. She finally stopped a last year(after much bribary) but when she found out we were p/g she went back with a vengance.
