Thoughts on.....glass top coffee table and kiddies?
I still can't find a coffee table because I am uneasy about this combination. Figure I would ask the experts.
I yearn for a glass-top coffee table with a display case on the inside.....but not sure if it's a good idea.

Re: Thoughts on.....glass top coffee table and kiddies?
Well, let's just say my parents had one and when I was 13 I was goofing around with my friends and I fell backwards into it and it shattered taking off 2 inches of flesh from my back, 1/4 inch from severing my spinal cord. I have a huge nasty scar which took 3 months to heal and the dr at the ER said I was lucky it didn't cut closer or I could have been paralyzed.
I freak out at glass coffee tables near kids now.

Re: Thoughts on.....glass top coffee table and kiddies?
I wouldnt do it. I accidentally broke my ILs glass top coffee table (one where the class sits in the middle of wood) and I barely touched it. I was PG at the time and It almost came crashing on my feet and I had no shoes on.
If you already had one prior to kids then I can understand , but I wouldnt get one now that I have a kid.

I have a glass coffee table and 2 glass end tables in my LR and my kids never touch it or really go in there.

We have glass end tables and coffee table (and kitchen table actually) without incident...knock wood
They all have rounded edges as well...

We have a 3/4" thick glass coffee table - round edges - and except for some normal wear & tear scratches, no incident. Which is not to say I didn't want the thing in storage when Charlie was learning to walk...but amazingly, she never hurt herself on it.
