Those working today...
Do you usually close early the day before a holiday? I'm praying they tell us we can leave early!

Yes, we get to leave 2 hours before our scheduled time. It used to be a hard 2 or 3 PM but people who arrived at 8:00 AM got screwed while people who come in at 12:00 PM had the best day ever.

I have to leave to get DD early because Daycare is closing.
I don’t know anyone who is off unless they took off.

I think in my 23 years here the company closed early twice.
I don't mind staying until regular time, the earlier trains are usually packed with those that do leave early.

My old job no, it was a residential setting so we never close and my new job is in a hospital, we are obviously always on

They emailed us yesterday that we were closing at 3 pm today.
They usually do that the day before a holiday

We were told at 3 today that we can leave today at 3. But finish your work first.
They always give us a negative minute's notice and I ***** hate it.
Could never understand the big deal to tell your employees ahead of time. Always a damn guessing game.
