those with wood banister staircases - WHAT GATE ?

We really don't want to drill into the banister, and thought to get one of those attachment straps.

Any recs or gate suggestions for top and bottom?

this is the bottom,

the top would attach to the banister on one side and the wall on the other.

For the bottom you can get a pressure mounted gate, but for the top I wouldn't do a pressure mounted one. We have one and it's not drilled into either side (which are bannisters). We had someone install it for us but basically he took extra wood, stained it to match the color of our stairs and screwed it around the banister, and drilled the gate into that. It's awesome - I love it but I couldn't have done it myself.

yeah I no way want to do pressure at the top of the stairs.
I saw this strap type..

and I would screw the gate into it. It won't match our wood, but it's the best I could find?

Yes, that's what ours looks like but it doesn't have those straps. it's hard to explain but where the straps are, are piece of wood held together with a nail. I think its' the same thing, as long as the straps are okay to hold that extra piece of wood in place.
