Those with Preschoolers/Kindergartners, sports/activities question
How many different sports/activities is your DC doing? DD is 4 almost 5. During the school year (she had went to preschool 3days/wk) she did ballet/tap classes as well as music. They both ended and now I have her in swimming classes for the summer and just started her in gymnastics as well. So far she loves gymanstics so may keep her in it as well as re-enroll her in ballet in the fall. Is this the norm or am I running my kid ragged? (as well as myself!)

Re: Those with Preschoolers/Kindergartners, sports/activities question
DD (will be 5 in August) plays soccer pretty much all year round and she will play baseball again and swimming.. she used to go ballet/tap but it wasn't her thing..
DS plays lacrosse all year round, soccer, football, swimming and wants to play baseball again..
LO (2) will be playing soccer in september and will also start swimming
My kids love having the constant shuffling around.. and I love them being active
ETA that my kids also do alot of sports clinics in addition to the organized sports (their dad is a big athlete so he is always involved in stuff)

Re: Those with Preschoolers/Kindergartners, sports/activities question
Soccor all year here as well, swimming all year too, we did softball in the spring but couldn't do for the summer because we moved. But we are looking at a new soft ball program. We are also hoping to teach him street hockey.

Re: Those with Preschoolers/Kindergartners, sports/activities question
DD turned 5 recently. For several months, she was in soccer, karate, and swim lessons. Soccer is done for the season, and this is her last week of swim lessons, so she's not going to be very scheduled during the summer. She was in pre-K 5 days a week.

Re: Those with Preschoolers/Kindergartners, sports/activities question
the best parenting advice i got was no more than 2 extra curricular at a time. If they want to start something else, they have to choose what is going to be given up.
it helps my sanity and wallet!

it helps my sanity and wallet! yes! this has been, and is going to continue to be, my approach as well.
DD#1 turned 5 in may and will start kindergarten in the fall. She has been enrolled in soccer, dance, gymnastics and swim. only 1-2 activities at a time along with school 3 days a week when 3 and 5 days a week (3 hours/day) when 4.
since kindergarten is going to be an adjustment i am going to keep it simple. she loves gymnastics and i would like to introduce her to piano. come the fall she will be enrolled in a group music class and gymnastics, both once a week.
