those with gas heat
we just bought our house in june and now just turned on the heat... i am clueless when it comes to stuff like this but is there anything i need to do? like filters to change, etc? TIA!

you should buy co/gas dectors. we moved into our house in march and started to use the heat right away. we had a few gas leaks and I had no idea. it does smell, but I never owned a home so I had no idea what gas smelled like
if you want to, you can have a company come in a service the burner. ours was new so we didn't do it.
you only need to change filters if you have forced air. if you have radiators you don't have to do anyhting but clean them with the vaccum (I do it almost everytime I clean)

I would get a service contract for the year. Its' about $200. Covers about anything.
