Those who live or know anything about NC why??

Most of the houses that I see on realtor.com in NC do not have in-ground pools or sprinkler systems. Does anyone know the reason for that? Florida has association fees for a community but most of the houses have their own pool. Thank you.

A lot of the houses in my neighborhood/sub division do have in ground pools however they are not as popular because most sub divisions have a community club house and pool so there is no need to have you own.

I want one, but not until my kids are much older. I've noticed that the houses that have them tend to have pre-teens and up so I think it's a safety issue.

Plus, unlike Florida, you can only use the pool for a few months. April/May to Aug/Sep. So, the pool season is not as long.

As for sprinklers-if you are looking at neighborhoods, my guess is that a sprinkler package was not put in when the house was built and the owners never installed them themselves. Again, this is something I want but our house doesn't have them yet. However, we seem to go on water restrictions fairly often so I'm not sure you would reap the benefits of th investment.
