So i was online this morning looking at my checking and savings account as i do every Thursday and there are 21 $5.00 debits in my Savings account with the reasoning as SAVINGS WITHDRAWAL LIMIT FEE
WTH is it?????? Are they now charging you for withdrawals and not notifying anyone??

i just checked my account online and i had no such debits in my savings account. they are charging you for removing money from your savings account? did you call to see if this was done in error?

Check what kind of savings account you have with them. I had this happen to me and had to change to a different savings account type (of course this meant having a greater minimum balance).
It stinks when you're limited to a certain number of withdrawls before they start charging you for taking out your own money. Go figure.

I'm not 100% but I heard something about getting penalized for too many withdrawals from your savings account. Doesn't apply to the checking account though, I've not seen any of those charges from Chase show up in my checking.

This is true. A friend of mine works at chase and says after more than 6 withdrawals from savings a month it turns into like a checking account because you aren't supposed to be withdrawing money from savings. I think it is crazy because it is your money, but this happend to me when I was paying out stuff for my wedding and withdrawing from my savings too much.

This is not only with Chase. You cannot do more then 6 transfers or withdrawels with most savings accounts. This is regulated by some law. Most banks will charge you a fee if you go over those transactions. If you continue to go over the 6 transactions they will automatically convert your savings into a checking account. Savings accounts are not meant to withdraw from.

If you physically go to a branch to make a withdrawal/transfer, they will not charge the fee. I took this from the Chase website.
'Federal law limits the number of certain withdrawals on any savings account to 6 per month. Withdrawals at ATMs and in person at a branch are not subject to federal limits'.

Citibank warned me and waived my first fee. I never did this again.

its def not chase specific - i believe most banks do that
I would still however complain because you should have received some sort of notification after doing it the first time; maybe they will waive a fee or two

Just open a checking account if you'll be doing automatic/electronic debits and credits on the account.

Yes, we have an account that if you transfer money out or withdraw from your savings more than a few times per statement period, then we get charged a fee also.
