Those of you who have to take Iron
What brand are you taking and how much?
My Dr. told me to get Ferras Gluconate and take it twice per day. She said I could get it OTC at the pharmacy. I picked up a bottle as night, but it says to only take 1 pill a day. I do have a call into the NP at my OBs office, but was curious as to what brands and doseages other ladies here are taking.

I was just told by my doc's office yesterday that I am slightly anemic, they recommended Slow-Fe.

I am only slightly anemic, so it was recommended that I take one pill once daily.
Check with your OB to see how much you'll need.

I am slightly anemic and the doctor recommended Ferrosequel b/c it has a laxative in it. i take it once a day which is 50mg.

I had to have blood transfusions because my red cell count was so low.....so my doctor has me on Slow Fe 2 times a day

Its been hard for me to swallow anything because of crazy uncontrollable m/s so I asked for a prescription for chewables... They have iron and it bothers my stomach...so I take half at night and half after breakfast. Im not sure what brand they are though.

I take the slow fe 2 tabs daily, i was told by high risk doc to take 1 in am and then 1 in pm because you want to give your body the chance to absorb them. Just dont forget the colace (stool softener)
