those delivering at LIJ
is it worth it for a private room? how many people in a room otherwise? whats the bathroom situation like?

i delivered at lij in spetember. i had a 4 person room but there was only one other person with me. it wasnt so bad. But i assume if all four beds were occupied it could have been bad. It was one bathroom for 4 people.

I delivered at LIJ and I was in a room with 4 people...it wasnt the best situation but I dealt with it. Oh and we all shared a bathroom

i delivered twice at lij, both times i was in a two person room.i actually liked it. i made friends with both my roomates each delivery. we still email eachother to this day and share pics of our children who have the same birthday.

Usually, you request it at the time you deliver...if there is a private room available, you just have to pay extra for it. My mom works in admitting but I forgot how much extra it is per day.

The spoiled brat I am--I paid it 
We did request it as soon as Abigail was born. I had a c/s and could have stayed either 3 or 4 nights--I opted for the 3 nights partially because of the price!
Anyway, you do share the bathroom with the room next door, but I didn't find that to be a problem.
Love the private room, but if I have a 3rd I probably will get a roommate--mostly because there's no way DH is paying that amount again!

I am hoping for just one roommate to make friends with since I'll be a c-section and in for a few days. Otherwise they try to get you out so quickly!

I heard the even though it's a private room you still have to share a bathroom. Not sure if it's true or not.
Might want to look into it.
