This is so hard...DS leaves me for 3 weeks tomorrow night
As some of you already know from my older posts, STBX is in the Army and was deployed for the past year. He's returning to NC on Friday finally. His parents are going down to greet him in NC and they're taking DS with them. DS will be down visiting with his daddy for 3 weeks.
Although I'm so happy that they;re finally reunited (STBX deployed only 3 weeks after DS was born) I'm having such a hard time dealing with the fact that I'll be separated from DS for so long. The longest I've ever been apart from him was 4 days  And to make matters worse, I just started back at work about 2 weeks ago, so the past 2 weeks I've barely seen my son at all.
I took tomorrow off so that I can spend the day with him before he leaves, but I know I'm going to be a mess all day. I can't even imagine 3 weeks without him. And its so hard to think that he'll be with his dad and I won't be there too...its a very difficult and confusing situation all around 
Thanks for letting me vent...

Wow that is REALLY tough. I am so sorry you have to go deal with that. I'm sure STBX is looking forward to see him though. He'll be back before you know it.

I can't imagine!
Is there any way you can fly down for a weekend in between? Not to impede on DS's time with your ex and his parents, just to see him at least for a few hours?

I am in a somewhat similar situation. STBX took my DD on vacation for 8 days...thank goodness I was in the process of moving out of our house and into a condo which kept me busy! I do have to say it went by MUCH quicker than I imagined. It's a blessing you are back at work you will be kept busy!! Make dinner plans with friends, get a massage, mani pedi, exercise, etc. Fill your days and nights and enjoy some well rested mornings.
He will be back before you know it!!

Wow, that is a really difficult situation. My first thought was that it may be difficult for your son as well. He is little and that is a long time to be away from you. I assume he is very close to his grandparents. Can you fly down for a bit?
I am sure you will all get through it, but lots of until you do.

Yes, DS goes to see his grandparents every weekend and since I've been back to work they take him 2 days a week for me. He's very close with them so I know it won't be weird for him to go with them, but at the same time, he's only 12 months old...its just SUCH a long time to be away from his mommy.
I could possibly fly down for a weekend but I'd have to check with STBX to see if he'd be okay with that first.
