This has to be bad for the baby
So I just realized that for the entire weekend all I ate were Cheese rice cakes and a few saltines. 1.5 bottle of water each day. (not on purpose I swear) I didnt throw up last night or this morning. DH thinks its because I havent eaten anything substantial. I tried to eat a sandwich and my stomach is now in knots.
Ughhhhhhhhhh

Eh...they take what they need from your body. I wouldn't worry about it. Are you taking prenatals?

No they come right back up and they are the gentler natals too.

Re: This has to be bad for the baby
Just keep drinking water and keep down whatever you can.
When my m/s was really, really bad (around 12-15 weeks) I didn't take my prenatals either, my doctor told me not to.
Just try to relax. The baby WILL take from you.
ETA: I only take the prenatals every other day now too...

Just keep doing what you can that stays down The baby will get from your stores first
Prenatals made me sick too, and m/s made it worse.
I have been taking Flinstones vitamins and i feel sooo much better.

yes...as stated above, the baby takes what it needs leaving mommy to suffer. HA! I've YET to drink enough water in a day during this pregnancy and my amnio fluid levels are totally normal

Don't worry about it, you can only do the best that you can do. The baby is getting what he or she needs from your stores - hope you feel better soon.

Re: This has to be bad for the baby
We have been telling you this and you know. Its not bad for the baby.
I went 4 days without ANY solid food on a few occasions and then there were days I had some broth for my meals.
Its not bad for the baby.
Sorry you have to go through this.

A part of me knows but then I have a GF who's baby has a small brain and they think its due to her mom's nutrition during pregnancy so I am a worry wort.
Thats 100% not true. Believe me I asked a million times, my dr and my gastro and my high risk Dr. Even the hospital when I was there. They all told me the same thing. And didnt you go through this already? Your child is fine right?

i agree - DO NOT worry about this!! the baby is getting all it needs from nutritional stores that you already have in your body. think of it this way - you yourself could survive without eating for weeks to months - and you require tons more energy than your little bean!!
the babies that are born with deficits due to malnutrition (like in 3rd world countries) are born that way because their mothers were malnourished to begin with. this is NOT your case!!!
it will be okay

Actually the brain damage could be due to the maternal mother not getting adequate nutrtion-unfortunately there is a very sick 5 month old in flushing hospital. her mom hid her pregnancy and the doctors do speculate that one of the causes is mom not getting adequate care-she hid her pregnancy and was so sick. So doctors do have differing opinions on the subject. I know I am not an extreme case though and trust me the worry still comes no matter how many times you go through it ....

As for my DD being fine-I was told the majority of babies are perfectly healthy however my doc did explain that if there were any issues they would manifest themselves later so I was actually told different info than everything will be 100% ok. But please bear in mind that my hyperemesis was really severe. Whats happening now doesnt even begin. I mean shivers, cold sweats, passing out you name it. I think maybe thats a reason why I am so on edge... I know what can happen.

Re: This has to be bad for the baby
Maybe this is a novice opinion, but I think there is a HUGE difference between someone who hid their pregnancy and a woman with hyperemiss. At least, you are under medical care and that is the most important thing.
If someone is hiding their pregnancy, chances are there are other issues going on in their life. It's a shame about your GF and her baby, but as long as you listen to your doctors, get IV's when needed and follow their instructions, things will be fine.
I don't mean to be rude, but there are quite a few women on here with hypermesis (myself included) and someone being alarmist about isn't good for anyone.
I hope you feel better.

Re: This has to be bad for the baby
I tend to agree that all the specialists I have seen have said there is no way anything would be wrong with the baby , only possibly with ME ....
So Im not sure what your Dr is saying, but Im gonna disagree. I do hope your case DOESNT get anywhere near where it was the last time. Hang in there!!!!!!!

I dont consider you rude but so you understand where I am coming from. I think we are all scared and me included. I wish I could sahre my entire Hyperemesis jouney but that would definitely be me being an alarmist and I try not to go into detail. But with that said there are reasons I am not sharing why dealing with Hyperemesis makes me feel helpless.

My case will actually be worse this time if we let it develop....and I guess I am not being 100% forthcoming. My paranoia isnt just about Hyperemesis. I have so many issues going on that were caused becasue of my first round of hyperemesis that today my husband asked me if I was sure I want to go through this. My doctors have laid out my journey and its not easy. I come on here so I dont keep crying and I know I am venting but lieterally there are not alot of women who had hyperemesis like mine. Close but when a doctor tells you you're the worst he has seen in his 21 years...it just does something to you.
