Thinking "no" is funny....
Lily is going to be 11 months old next week.
Lately, she's been exploring EVERYTHING, which I know is normal...but when she's doing something she's not supposed to, we tell her "no" to try to get her to stop. Recently, when we say that, she looks at us and laughs. Not just a giggle...but hysterical laughter!
What have we done?
Can we fix this?
And how can I not laugh back when she's laughing at me like that!?!?

 Im sorry but I invisioned her doing this and I dont know what to say I would die laughing too !! Did you get it on video ? That would be a great moment to capture for when she has her own one day

good question....i have the same issue but i find that the only thing that works is actually getting up and physically removing her from whatever it is she's doing. sometimes i have to do it like 5x to get the no message across. i find that just saying no to her gets the same giggling reaction and does nothing. it really is so hard to keep a straight face!

Just be persistent and make sure your no is not in your regular tone of voice, but stern and serious.

Thank goodness I stopped breastfeeding!!
I guess it takes time....and consistency...she's just so freakin' cute when she's laughing at me like that.

We went through that too. It lasted about 4-5 weeks and seems to be over, for now...lol.
DD would deliberately throw the sippy cup/spoon while in the highchair, I would look directly at her and say, "NO!!!!!" and she would...
Thankfully, all of those years being taught by the nuns and teaching high school for 13 years, have allowed me to develop quite the stern looking expression even when I want to crack up.
I realized that she was doing it for attention so I either said "NO!!" and then diverted my attention to her brother or I just said nothing and redirected her.
Whatever you do, don't laugh!!

We're dealing with the same thing too.
And when I go to remove him from whatever situation he's in after he laughs and ignores me, he laughs harder like it's a chasing game.
Sippy cup throwing is a big issue here too!
He looks at me first to check me out - he knows he's not supposed to do it.
Little stinker.

I know what you are going through - now Cailen has followed it up with a little "dance" a silly face, and then if I still maintain my composure, which is like that borderline "I can;t look at my best friend in science class right now or I'm going to lose it" type of composure, he looks at me, starts waving and saying "HI!!!!" and clapping and saying "Yayeee!"
And then I lose it, and then he laughs.
I'm in BIG trouble!!!!

EJ will look at me too before doing something "funny". He started laughing at the beginning. I found that the the "angry eyes" and serious face while holding his hand and saying no was actually working. The "no" only was not working. He was cracking himself up.

DS did this and still does sometimes. He is 22 months now.
Now whenever he knows he's in trouble and hears my tone of voice change, he'll look up at me and give me a cute smile and caresses my face or leg (whatever he can reach) and goes "nice nice" all to avoid being in trouble...

We do the same. I hold his hand and give him the mean mommy stare. And I yell as Dh for laughing in the background

So weird, the same thing works for Cailen, but I have to hold his arms, look into his face and say, "Cailen NO!" then he knows I mean business!!!

Yup - DD does this too -We have baby proofed out wires but there is this accordian piece that wraps around the wires she loves to touch (not pull but touch). I look at her sternly and say firmly NO! She bounces up and down and laughs hysterically and does it again. I pick her up and say NO and move her across the room. She crawls FASTER right back and giggles as she does it.

OMG.. you are in so much trouble!
You got it!!! I'm DEFINITELY in for it. But my mom sees this as payback - I used to do the same thing - I would WAIT and look to make sure either mommy or daddy was watching then I would LAUGH and run for the street or the big pool etc. I ALWAYS stopped in time but I think I must have liked the look of horror on their faces.
