things to do in the city with a 1yr old tomorrow?
We're definitely going to the central park zoo, but i haven't been in that area in AGES, so i don't know what else there is to do around there.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
It's supposed to be 80 degrees and sunny. We haven't decided if we'll drive or take the train. Anyone know the parking situation around there?

When we go Liam is just so interested in everything. We walk through Times Square and he loves it. There are cute stores to take them in there too. John's pizzeria is around Times Square and they are really yummy. It is an old church and has beautiful high ceilings to keep them interested. They don't sell by the slice but, the small pizza is fine for two adults and a baby.

Museum of Natural History!!! My kids FAVORITE place in the world.
And it's a "suggested donation" to get in, so it's a cheap option.

FAO Schwarz - DS loves the piano room. You could also check out their story time at 11 and 3.
The Children's Zoo at Central park is a hit as is Victoria Gardens, the small amusement park inside Central. DS also loves feeding ducks at the lake on 74th st.
Children's Museum and Museum of Natural History are also great.

I agree with FAO. We took DS there a few weeks ago, and he was in heaven. He loved it!

Lunch in Central Park (Boathouse is great).
In the past, we've hit the Bryant Park carousel, watched the bocce tournaments (not sure what's set up there now though).
Since you're uptown, you can hit a museum but I'm not sure he'd get much out of it as you would.
Love the polar bear & penguins..I could watch for hours.
For parking vs train - it all depends on if they clear up the delays. You won't want to commute during rush hour - my train was 2.5 hours last night - and it was packed.
Enjoy yourself & remember I'm right at Penn if you need anything.

you really are the best. Now we're def driving.
and we're going to play it by ear. We don't expect to get there until 12ish (waiting until his morning nap to start driving), so we may just spend a few hours at the zoo, eat and drive home before the mad rush.
Thank you!

IF you don't mind parking on the east side and then walking, there's a lot on 39th between 1st and 2nd that's like $12 for the whole day
There's also a lot on 54th between 2nd and 3rd that's $15 for the whole day

I completely agree with all this. I would start at the park and zoo though and hit FAO Schwarz later. He is a little young for the Children's museum but the museum is a MUST for all ages!
