I know this is Hollys friends sister..and I mean NO DISRESPECT AT ALL..
But I find this story to be truly awful in a sense. I understand she was scared and was suffering from anxiety but how could she do that to her family???? It is obvious she had a WONDERFUL relationship with them and she just kept going on letting them think the worst had happened. Very selfish in my opinion. I also feel for her dh. I know he is a grown man who could have also contacted someone but he got such a bad rap. It kind of makes me angry to be very honest.
With that said, I am genuinely happy that they are both ok.

I dont mean to be rude here, but I find this whole thing appauling. They mislead their families and everyone who cared for them AND they both went AWOL. Anxiety or not its rediculous. I hope she realizes she's probably going to either be thrown in jail or dishonorably discharged (which means her career is over) or both!
And i dont buy that they didnt think it was going to be this big of a deal....
They knew what the consequences of something like this were. What'd they think no one was going to look for them??

From the moment I first heard this story I thought to myself "AWOL." There was something too fishy about it. I figured they were in Tijuana or something.
Oh well, glad they're ok.
Apparently, since the Iraqi invasion 5 years ago, the armed forces have seen the biggest spike in desertion incidents. I don't understand what people expect when they sign on that line that joining the military is gonna be a cakewalk? I understand that recruiters lie (or stretch the truth) to get people to sign, but some recruitees need to wake up to reality.

No offense taken. She has such a supportive family, and unfortunately felt she could not express her fears to them. I hope she can get the help that she needs.

They had to know there was a hunt for them, if someone was logging into Kevyn's myspace, tehy could see all the messages he received. And all the comments posted.
I guess I won't ever understand.
I am just so happy my friend is now able to sleep at night, and her sister is safe.

Yes, thats very true -- all in all, im very glad she is safe and unharmed and that her family no longer has to worry about their daughter.
