They accepted my offer

Short sale. Offering a little less than its listed for. Keep your fingers crossed. Sellers broker says shes sure the bank will accept it as they are very far along in their negotiations etc and have had all necessary things done already.

I heard short sales often take a long time so I asked if we could rent it until the sale goes through in some way. I knew it was a long shot, but figured Id try. The lady said once the bank accepts my offer I can move in??????? ( I misunderstood - seems more like the lady doesnt want to leave!)

updated - they accepted my offer. Im sad b/c DH and I are separating. I will be moving with the kids into this home and he will be keeping his home Chat Icon I want to feel excited about buying a home, but honestly, my heart is broken. A bad relationship, leaving my friends and my home. I dont really want to get into it, but... Im just broken. Trying so hard to think pf positives that can come from it.

(I picked out the home were in now. I love it, but I couldnt afford it on my own and I need a place where I can do that.)

Re: I think I'm putting an offer in tomorrow

I see a HUGE red flag here

I would speak to your attorney about moving in once the offer is accepted

this is far from a common practice and if the bank finds out you are renting the place and the payments are not being made to the bank - that's bank fraud

I would be very cautious about moving in prior to closing

once the bank approved the offer- you should be closing with in 30-45 days anyway

the bank will only accept a contract as an offer- so it's not enough just to make an offer on the house- you need to go thru the process

are you working with a realtor?

I agree but I could have misunderstood. Honestly it is all so confusing. Yes, I am working with J.D. Pulice from Redfin.
