We offered 10% less, and then went up a little bit. It is a 4bdrm in Smithtown. Our agent was shocked that they accepted us.
We are now working on getting someone to do an engineer's report this week, and talked to the banks and mortgage companies about rates today.

I didn't mean to be rude. I'm about to sell and wanted to do some research as to managing my expectations.
I think that it's great to buy your first home - it's such a big deal.
Definatley get a good attorney that you either know or that someone else has used.
Enjoy the event!!! It's a super special time. You only buy your first home once.
Again, sorry if I offended anyone and thanks for disclosing the information.
