Thermal Wrap?

Can anyone tell me what a thermal wrap from a spa is like?

I'm trying to book a nice spa treatment for DH and I for our anniversary and there are two couples options.

1) Aromatherapy couples massage - 50 minutes
2) Above + 25 minute Geranium thermal wrap

TIA!

Re: Thermal Wrap?

it is like being a baked potato in a big aluminum foil looking blanket -- something out of nasa lol -- and they rub stuff ALL over you and coat you in various things, soak/rub off, then coat more and then they put you in that big tin foil blanket and usually they put a warm lamp on you while you lay in it -- side by side for couples.

it's great, supposedly, for the skin. DH and i had one and then when we were done they threw us both - NAKED - in a swedish shower - umm OUCH - the jets and water were OUT of control all over us to get the mud and stuff off but our skin was real nice afterwards. i don't think it was quite the "relaxing couples spa" experience i was looking for but it was nice.

i would definitely do a massage over that but if you have a package with both it is a cool experience... definitely a story we tell over and over again about how they tossed us in that shower together, naked, covered in mud, like wet dogs LOL.

Re: Thermal Wrap?

A wrap is a "foil" or "white plastic wrap".

Most likely you will lay on top of the wrap foil or plastic, they will apply the treatment, etc... and wrap you on top. Usually they take each side and wrap it back up on you. That's what I used to do on some wraps on my clients.

Then, depending on the treatment, you will be wrapped for several minutes (10-20???) then they removed the wrap. Some of them you get a shower or they have a shower table (depending on the spa).

ETA: usually a wrap is for your skin.
