Re: Thermal Reconditioning
Well, after going through all my pics online, I realized that the pics I have of events, my hair is blown out straight! That is why I did it in the first place. I'm sure I have pictures on Shutterfly so I will look for them.... I go to Kim Sun Young Beauty Salon on W. 32nd Street (Korea Town). They are moderately priced and experts on TR. I am able to get an appointmet there within a week. I did a lot of research here before deciding on a place to get my hair done. Let me look for some pics and I will update later.

Re: Thermal Reconditioning
Here is another of me and DH from last summer
Sorry, I can't find any curly shots of me! Basically, I loved the curls but I found myself blowing my hair out whenever I would go out. Most times, as soon as I walked out the door it would turn frizzy. I miss my curls now though so I don't think I am going to do it any more. You just have to let it grow out since the hair that gets the TR never curls again (without a LOT of hairspray!). It is just the regrowth that gets curly. I had curls out in for my wedding and by the end of the night, most of the bottom had fallen. I loved it though!
When I got it done (look how tight the curls were!)
A few hours later, after makeup was done
Excuse the stupid expression, but you get the idea of how my hair was falling!

Re: Thermal Reconditioning
It looks great!!! And your hairstyle for your wedding looked great too. Thanks so much for posting the pics and the info. I am sooo interested in getting this done since I am ALWAYS blowing my hair out and I'm getting so tired of doing it considering it takes me over an hour to do it myself and too much $$ when I go to the salon.
I like the fact that your ends don't look fried - that was my biggest concern.
Another question - did you ever dye your hair before doing this? I am growing out my color right now because I want to do this.
See if you can find a curly picture - I would love to see how curly it was before - the natural curls - because those are different than curling iron curls.

My hair is probably healthier now than before. I haven't colored my hair in many years. The 1st time I got the TR, they put a special cream on my hi-lites to protect them from the TR. Now the color is all grown out. Definitely go to a reputable place. Generally if the price is too good to be true, it is because they are not experienced. Also, be prepared to sit for a LONG time. It generally takes anywhere from 5 - 7 hours to get my hair done. I don't care how long it takes as long as it looks good I figure that each hour I spend in the salon, I am saving an hour off of the time to get ready each day. It literally would take me an hour to blow out my hair then it would get frizzy anyway. Now, I wash my hair every 2 - 3 days, only blow it to dry it, not too much for style. I can walk out in the most humid, grossest weather days and not a bit of frizz! All that humid weather we had a few weeks ago, NOTHING!! I will keep looking for curly pics...

I read that this is suppose to make your hair healthier if it is done the right way... I also have highlights but I read that you just can't get them touched up for about two weeks after the TR.
That is so what I want... I want to look great in minutes and not have after an hour of blow drying it it trun to frizz and cruels again.. Oh this so sounds like it is for me..
One more questions.. Did they test your hair before you got the TR treatment.. I read that some places do that to make sure you hair is healthy enough to do the treatment?

They ABSOLUTELY need to test it before they do it. Everyone's hair is so different. Even though you really want it, be completely honest with the hair dresser to ensure your hair will not be ruined. They can put special creams and stuff to ensure your hair won't get fried. I highly recommend my place. They are really nice and moderately priced. I can FM you their info if you want it (I listed the name on a previous post above)

Re: Thermal Reconditioning
Thanks for the pic - you look great in it btw. Your hair looks just about as curly as mine... mine might be just a little thicker. So there is hope!! I'm so excited after reading all this. I really want to do it before I go back to work, it would be such a time saver. Like you said, I don't care HOW long it takes as long as it looks good. And I agree about the price - if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. I wouldn't take a chance with this. So, I'll FM you.

Re: Thermal Reconditioning
can you wash your hair and just go? I've always dreamt of being able to do that and always envied girls with their wet perfectly straight hair.

Re: Thermal Reconditioning
Yes, I currently have wash and go hair. Growing up, I also envied those people that were like that. I got my most recent TR done about 2 months ago. In about another month, my hair will no longer be wash and go since the roots will start to show. The hair that grows out is your regular hair. It is only the hair that got TR'd that never changes. It isn't like a perm that fades away.
