the TTC game
so I definitely THINK I want to try for another baby in the next year...but with Bella I got PG right after I went off the pill while expecting fertility issues so it was really beyond a surprise for me.
Now that I am really thinking about it and I just don't know. DO I want to be PG before my b-day, afterwards...winter baby?? Bella will be 3 in september of '08. TWO kids freaks me out as I will still work FT. All these thoughts...what to do?
Any advice or commiseration....?

I pick B) Commiseration
With 2008 right around the corner, it's on my mind alot lately but I am still so unsure about the timing...
At this point Jake will already be past 3 years old. I really didn't want them to be too much further apart...but then again, I really wanted a late spring baby so I could have the summer off again (I loved that!)...and that would mean waiting until the summer...

I have learned you can plan all you want and it may not work out the way you planned. I had big plans for this fall that never happened.
I when you're ready you have to try and be prepared for it to happen right away or maybe even take a while.

thanks I know it can be harder 2nd time around...but I am afraid of the waiting too long or happening too fast thing...
What the heck is the happy medium?

Re: the TTC game.
Yeah, it's enough to drive you to drink!!
Well, you know mine are really close in age, but I was getting bogged down in timing it "exactly" as if you could do such a thing. I thought I would try on a certain month, and then changed my mind again and again. Finally, my DH was like, "Just go with your first instinct" which I did and 9 months later, Abby popped out! And during all the decisions, I was freaking out about having two since I would be SAHM!! And then don't get me started on the months that were "good" and "bad" to have a baby--TTC can certainly drive you INSANE!!
Well, good luck no matter your decision...oh and on a different note, I saw the Radio City special AND I saw you in the credits without slow motion!! Awesome job...congratulations!!

girl...I am exactly with you and that puts them at four years apart....I am just so confused. It's a never ending circle.

Not to mention the fact that the daycare bill will DOUBLE when #2 arrives and how exactly do you decide on the "perfect month" to have that little gem happen right?

OMG, I know, and I wasn't even thinking about that...when she turns 3 at her school the bill does drop a lot as she is no longer on the "infant" side.
the very thought of that bill makes me nauseous. If we do 4 years, then we are looking at two kids in daycare until she starts kindergarten, and then I have to figure out after school programs... it really never ends.

It doesnt really double, you get somewhat of a discount, but never enough, huh?
Honestly, I would just go for it - by the time you get PG, it will be just the right time no matter what!

Yep unfortunately us grownups don't get to work kindergarten hours and you still have to pay for before care and after care! You are right it NEVER ENDS!!

Re: the TTC game
I thought I was going to have fertility problems (for no apparent reason) with #1 - but I didn't. I was miss fertile myrtle first time around and that's why I waited a little longer to start TTC for #2, which, I now regret
I just thought, as with everything else, I could just plan it all out - I wanted my kids to be exactly 2 years apart, so I went off the pill exactly when I thought it would happen, assuming I'd get preggo right away.
And, here I am, almost a year later, feeling like such a dumbarse for making terrible assumptions.
If you feel like you're ready emotionally and mentally, don't wait for the right "time" because mother nature will make that decision for you

see, I just don't know. None of my close people in my life are really on this path, so I feel a little lonely in this (although we have had one close friend have a baby in July) Bella was the only child at Thanksgiving...
My job is in flux, and the thought of juggling two kids scares me. I definitely want a sibling for Bella and I definitely would like them 4 years apart max, but that puts a deadline on things and I know we cannot plan it...I am all over the map. I want to get a second PG over with, but terrified at the same time...
