The status of WhitneyL..UPDATE HE'S HERE!!!
so Whitney went into the hospital on Wednesday night to start the Cervadil for her induction. She was put on the Pitocin all day yesterday and while she was having some pretty strong contractions, they weren't dilating her. So, she never went into active labor. The dr. gave her the options for a serial induction (meaning she would do the cervadil and pitocin for another night/day) or a C-section. Whitney and her DH opted for the serial induction. So they started her on the Cervadil again last night and they will be starting the Pitocin sometime soon this morning. What we do know is that if she dosen't end up making progress naturally on her own today, then they will be forced to do a Csection. So, the baby WILL be born at sometime today!!! Please send her some labor vibes. Either myself or Dottiemchugh will update you on her status as the day goes on.
12:40pm 1-30-09
The dr. was able to break her water at around 11:30am and she flew into active labor within 1 minute. Her contractions came on really strong so she took the demerol to take the edge off. Her DH says she is trying to rest but she is still feeling the contractions.
1:45pm
Just spoke to Whitney's DH and he said she was in an incredible amount of pain so she is getting the epidural now. They will check how far along she is after the epi kicks in. Looks like she is progressing fairly quickly!
UPDATE...He's here!!!!
Well, after 3 hours of pushing Whitney's baby boy arrived at 6:59pm on 1/30/09. She texted me a pic of him and he is adorable!!!! DH and I took her DH out for breakfast this morning and he had a smile on his face from ear to ear that was endless. Both mom and baby are doing great!. DH and I will be visiting her tonight. I'll wait for her to give me the go-ahead with his name and other details.
