The REASON I read so fast.

I got my Harry Potter book on Saturday.. but I couldn't start it right away because I was having a birthday party for my son at 5pm. So after the party (last guests left at 11:30-12) I stayed up until nearly 4am reading. I didn't finish it but I was a good way in. I read more the next day - but with 2 kids I had to work around their schedule. We went to Rob's parents for supper and afterwards he wanted to stop at Target. I KNEW it wasn't a good idea.. but I went anyway. I am wandering through the quiet store when some guy tells his friend the END OF THE STORY. I wanted to throttle him! The store was quiet and he kind of just said it so quickly there was no time for me to put my hands over my ears. I was pizzed!

I hadn't been upset about needing to take this book more slowly. I know it is the last one and I wanted the chance to absorb it and enjoy it. BUT now I figured I had to put the pedal to the metal before even more of it got ruined. Who would have thought I would get spoiled walking through Target??

I went home and put the kids to bed and read the rest before I had to hear the spoilers on the radio and tv and internet. As it turns out spoiler guy either didn't read it - or read it half assed because he wasn't totally right about the things he had said.

BUT it was a long night for me and I am so f*cking tired. I wonder if I can take a Harry Potter Day at work? Chat Icon

My FIL was threatening to tell me the ending yesterday. I kept putting my hands over my ears and saying lalalalalalalalala like a 5 year old so I couldn't hear anything. Chat Icon

Why do people want to ruin it for others all the time? Chat Icon

Booo - I'm sorry! I also rushed through it - and thus missed a lot of the book - some of it was really confusing!

I actually think that I'm going to reread like the last 100 pages in a few days to see if I can pick up a few more things.

Yay! It went off great! I had tee shirts for all the kids that said "Born To Rock" on the front and "NoNo IV" on the back.. cause Noah's nickname is NoNo and it is his 4th. I got all the kids these cotten drawstring knapsacks and filled them with music themed stuff like - light up maracas, slide flutes, guitar pick necklaces, Pop Rocks (get it... POP? ROCK?), blow up guitars and stuff like that.

We also had Karaoke and my friend Don did a couple of sets with his guitar. We bought Noah an electric guitar so he sat next to Don and played. It was a little odd that Don chose to sing "Why Don't We Get Drunk & Screw" as one of the songs.. but nobody seemed to note that it was inappropriate at a kid's party. Good times!

It was fun. I had lots of food and the coolest guitar shaped birthday cake ever. And there were enough adults that it didn't feel boring. Went until almost 11pm.

ETA: There was something missing! It wasn't Naunified! You should have come. I am not that far away from you!
