Re: The pedi paw
I bought it and tried it.... I was surprised that my dog was not afraid of it, but you have to be really careful you don't hold it on the nail long otherwise you can burn your baby...
I didn't,but it was nerve racking that that could happen... I didn't find it to work so well.. I used it once, and now it's sitting on a shelf...
It definitely isn't as easy as the commercial shows....

my parents bought it and all of my dogs hated it. Personally i find it easier to just clip thier nails.

Re: The pedi paw
I use this with Katie, she loves it. The clippers freak her out. I would see if your dog can handle an emery board first before you buy it.

Same... we bought it and each nail takes FOREVER. It's easier and faster to just clip them ourselves.

Re: The pedi paw
We didn't like using the clippers so we got a Dremel tool which does the same thing the PediPaws does but has multiple household uses. Brinkley took too it pretty well, although we introduced it over a week period so that probably helped.
We've gotten lazy lately and just bring him to Pet Supplies Plus and they use the Dremel too and do a good job.

Thanks ladies! I still haven't tried using it yet... but I noticed everyone who responded has used it with a dog. I have 2 cats!
On the commercial and on the box it shows that you can use it with cats. Now, personally, I think my cats might be terrified but I figured it's worth a try because they HATE the nail clipper!!!!!!!! I mean HATE! We try wrapping them in a towel because otherwise it's literally impossible, but they still squirm to get away...... and we hate seeing them so miserable that we put off doing it, and their nails get too long!
Even if not the pedi paw, I welcome any other suggestions anyone might have! We are STRONGLY against declawing!
Right now our strategy is, I hold them in a towel, DH clips, then they get a treat...... whether we were successful or not! Sort of like going to the dr when you're little.... mom says u get a toy if you behave, you scream your head off, you get a toy anyway!

I never had a problem clipping my kitten's nails before I took her in to be spayed. The process must have been so traumatizing for her that i think she now associates nail clipping to that experience. The minute I take the clippers out, she runs. We too have to wrap her in a towel. I grab her by the nape of the neck and we try to get her nails clipped as quickly as possible. You would think that we were skinning her alive by all the screaming she does...

Re: The pedi paw - update
My dogs run from anything that vibrates, so we just take them to our local pet groomer or the vet to have their nails trimmed
