The Official "Good for Me" thread....

At 4 months pregnant I have realized I have done lots of good things that I just take for granted now. I think a lot of us do. We are slowly becoming Mommies and not even trying that hard. But there have been sacrifices and changes we’ve made and I think it’s only right we say “GOOD FOR ME” once and awhile.

Be selfish – go ahead!

I’ll start

Good for Me

I drink more water than I have in my whole natural life! Its not that I hate it now either, I drink it cause I know it’s good for me and my baby and it makes me feel good to know that. I like water, I ask for water morning, noon and night. I haven’t had a full can of coke in over a year! No Tea, no mix drinks, nothing, just water. I drink sips of my husbands drinks like once very two weeks. So – GOOD FOR ME

I have always loved fruits and veggies but now I eat them all day. Again, I could have done this before and been healthy and lose weight maybe but I was lazy and didn’t care. Now I have a little baby growing and I want it to love fruits and veggies like I do, so I take the time and make the effort. Every morning starts with at least one apple and a bottle of OJ. So – GOOD FOR ME

How about you?

I (at least for the first 2 trimesters) ate better, didn't drink soda and hardly had any caffeine.

I also did a lot of reading and research!

Of course, at 39 weeks, I can't remember anything I've read, I'm up almost 50 pounds and I've been pounding away at junk food and soda!

Re: The Official "Good for Me" thread....

I was much better before becoming preggo overall....

I never ate fast food, the majority of what I ate was veggies and fruit, and I pretty much only ate my own cooking (no short cuts... no pre-packaged anything used in my recipes... complete scratch) drank only juice diluted with water.... I was such a good girl!

now that I'm preggo, still there is only home cooking, but the amount of veg has decreased, I drink only water (no more juice), and I eat less fruit. I also shamelessly go to carvel for flying saucers and drink a can of caf free cola every day...

thank god for prenatal vitamins!

things I have done during pregnancy:

much more water drinking (almost 3L a day), no caffeine AT ALL, and sniff, no more booze Chat Icon

other than that, I've declined in my saintly behaviors Chat Icon

I also quit smoking, have given up caffeine, and of course alcohol. I'm also drinking much more milk, gave up hotdogs, and eat breakfast...I used to have just coffee for my first meal.

my diet has gone way down hill since I haven't felt good in a while. its bad, no veggies, some fruit, barely any water, I feel so bad because I never ate this terribly before, now that baby needs it, I'm eating all carbs and sweets.

Re: The Official "Good for Me" thread....

good for me- quit smoking, no more alcohol, getting more rest, started eating lunch---used to skip lunch before preggo.

I still have a cup of coffee in the morning. I don't take the prenatals as they make me nautious i make sure to eat plenty of fruit and veggies.
