The Magic Tree Ball

We put up a small artificial tree on a server where DS can't reach it. He's one this year, very curious, and puts everything in his mouth. So there was no way a tree was going out on the floor--too many potential accidents.

Anyway, he kept gesturing at the ornaments today and really wanted to touch them. DH picked him up and let him gently touch them, but that didn't satisfy him, he seemed to want to play with them. So DH took a small toy ball DS plays with, pretended it was hanging on the tree, and brought it to DS. He called it the magic tree ball, and DS was delighted with it. It was as if he had never seen it before.

I've been annoyed at my DH a lot lately, but we actually had a great weekend, and this was the gushy sort of story only other parents could appreciate. I just loved his idea about the magic tree ball, so cute!
