The energy level of a 15 month old

I just have a quick question. Does your 15 1/2 month old have endless amounts of energy? Sara just NEVER sits still. What activities do you do with your little one to keep them calm.? Thanks in advanced. - Shari

My son had lots of energy but I always thought that girls are calmer. My little princess is not.

Re: The energy level of a 15 month old

I have worked a lot with toddlers, and have to say my neices definitely had a lot more energy than my nephews at that age!!!

DH is a firm believer in taking kids out and "running" them like puppies - chasing games will definitely help with energy outside...

I know that if a kid is indoors, the enrgy just seems to build up - outdoors is the only place to really expel that excess energy!!!

Noah is 17 months this week and he can go from 4.55 am to 7 pm without napping. He is a freaking misery by the evening, but he is like a freaking rabbit....going, going, going, going, going, going...he never stops!

DD is always on the go, we go to the park a lot, play in her playroom, run in the backyard... We also go to music and gym class once/week...going to the mall or anything in the stroller has become obsolete!

Re: The energy level of a 15 month old

There is no such thing as calm with my 20 month old, and she's been that way ever since she started walking - she NEVER stops, and everyone comments on it. We have a large house and she just runs around in circles alllllllll day.

The only "soothing" time we have is when we read books - that usually lasts maybe 10 minutes or so. Otherwise, the best thing to do is let her run off that energy outside. When we come home from work and pick her up from school, we play outside with our neighbors who have three girls, from 5-7:30pm. By that time, she's CONKED and actually asks to go to sleep!
