The dreaded car seat dilema
So Lukie is like 20 something pounds and needs to move out of the infant carrier to a convertible. Right now both Emma and Jeremy are in Marathons. Emma is 40lbs and height wise still short enough to stay in the Marathon probably has another 2-3" before we need to get her a new seat. She is 5. Do I take her out of the Marathon and into a booster. I would perfer a 5 pt harness over a belt but am willing to think about just using the belt and move Lukie into her seat? Do I just run out and buy a 3rd Marathon?
I also have to take into consideration my car. Right now, and for the next 6 months, I will have my Acura MDX. We are getting either a Suburban or Yukon as my next car so for 6 months I *think* 3 Marathons would fit but Im not sure since Lukie will be rear facing I think it will work.
Help - I have serious mommy brain and need help thinking!

I would move Emma into a booster at this point. How tall is she? We just got the Britax Regent (5 pt) and that thing is HUGE!!!!!! No way it will fit in the back seat with 2 Marathons.

Sean's almost 45". He defintely outgrew the Marathon (he's also 45 pounds). Have you looked into any boosters yet?

I would also move Emma to a booster. They do make 5-pt harness boosters.
Emma's Marathon is in the car via the seatbelt and not latch, right?
ETA: We have an Envoy now and a 3rd car seat would not fit, not matter what! I definitely can't do it. No other person or car seat can fit, so when this lease is up, we are getting an Acadia or Yukon too.

I was looking at the Britax booster but it HUGE. Emma is belted in now not Latch. My car is to 40lbs via LATCH. I guess the MDX is wider cause the 3 seats fit now but i dont know once I add another convertible.

Yep, I have 40 lb limit on latch in my car too, so I just took my carseats to get inspected again and had Andrew's Marathon installed via the seatbelt, not latch.
I haven't even thought of boosters yet
