The Children's Safari review
We celebrated my son's 5th birthday on Saturday at The Children's Safari. I was not 100% happy with the place.
Pros:
* Gorgeous facility- very clean, large, private, lots for the kids to do in the "playroom". Decorated beautifully!
*Nice room for eating. They supply safari themed paper goods.
*They give cute favors. But I also gave my own so it really didn't matter to me.
Cons:
* Way too much down time for the kids. They spent 30 minutes playing (which they were sending us out of the room after only 20 minutes- uh no, I don't think so!! ), then an HOUR to eat a bagel and do a craft.
*The spin art activity was horrible!! I was told they would be designing a flying disk (frisbee). They designed a piece of cardboard (I totally forgot about the flying disk thing and remembered once we were home). AND...the kids didn't even get to squeeze the paint. They pointed to the colors they wanted, and the kid running the party squirted. Oh...give me a break!
*When the kids were done with the spin art, they were just standing around. I said to the hostess, "Uh...could you play a game with them or something?" She said, "Oh, I guess I can do tattoos."...Uh yes you CAN since I paid extra for that!!
*We ordered a $50 fruit platter for the adults. It was so cheesy it was ridiculous!
*We ordered a soda service for the adults. My DH had to remind them to take out soda 1/2 way into the party!
*It is soooooooo expensive. My party was over $550...and for what?
Basically, I would NEVER have a party there again. They really fool you with how GORGEOUS it is. You kinda don't think about the other stuff. But now, after the fact, I am annoyed.
