The age old stockings w/open toes question
I have a black-tie optional thing for work this weekend. I bought a cute cocktail-length black dress with white embroidery from White House/Black Market. So, I neeeeeed to wear stocking b/c my legs are as white as Caspar. Obviously I'd wear black stockings, right? And that means I can't wear open-toe dress shoes? Then what the heck am I supposed to wear?

Wear stockings with a pair of closed-toe sexy pumps.
I just saw on the Today show last week that the only time you can wear stockings with open toe shoes is if the stockings are very dark (tights)....but sheer with open-toe is always a no-no.

Thanks, that's what I thought but was hoping the rules had changed  I cannot find any closed-toe pumps I'm loving with the dress. Nothing like me waiting until the last minute

I'd say either do stockings with closed toe shoes, do stockings with the thong-toe (so the toes arent actually covered) -- this might look weird but it's better than stockings with a toe, or put lotion and self-tanner on your legs and go without!
