That's it I'm DONE!
with work that is.... Today was my last day of teaching. What a crazy day.
I thought I would be happier but deep down I feel very apprehensive...after all no job = no money! I know we're going to struggle until I go back to work and I'm a little scared. I know in my heart I'm doing the right thing, I want to be with my son for the first few months of his life. Anyone feeling this way about their maternity leave?

I was a MESS on my last day. I didn't even say goodbye to half of the people I wanted to because I just started to cry whenever I tried. I hated to walk away from a job I loved with great people, the paycheck, too. It was a very emotional day.
Good luck! You will feel better when you have your new baby, though!

Same for me. I am so excited that it was the last day of school. I'm o.k. that I'll be on maternity leave (I'm paying myself at least 2 wks w/my CAR time which is good, then I'll be on grace).
I think I'm just still in denial. I had a ton of things that I still felt like I needed to prepare my students (and the sub) for but I got done what I could. Whatever happens...happens.

I have 3 weeks left of teaching and the reality is just starting to hit me. Its scary and sad. As you said, no job = no money. But I have to watch my health and I know I want to be with my baby. There is nothing more important than that.

I feel really guilty. Especially because I "thought" there would be more progress by this point-----I could technically have worked these past two weeks and brought in two extra paychecks. Everyone is telling me I did the right thing though, and it's good that I am taking time for myself before the holidays/ is here.

Today was my last day at work and, I hate to say it, I'm relieved. I wasn't sad at all. The kids can't wait until I come back with the baby to visit, and I'll keep in touch with my friends at work while I'm gone anyway.
I can't believe the baby is due in 31 days!!! AND I can't wait to relax before the baby arrives.

Me too! My last day was last Tuesday and still no baby!! But, I know it was for the best especially when I think back to how uncomfortable I was...
I am going to borrow 20 days from the DOE, so I should get paid until February...it is still nerve racking though...
