My ds is going to be 1 on 02/13/13. I just ran out of formula. Would it be terrible to start him on milk a week early? Or should i wait till his doctor appt (02/16/13) to get the okay from my ped. Hes on regular formula now, no milk allergies.

Re: What would you do

It might not be as easy as just switching. if your DS is ok with it, go for it

We started it at 11 months- a slow transition.
But it's fine to start early

What would you do

I would go ahead and start but do a slow transition. I went cold turkey and he couldn't handle it and he was VERY sick. I ended up havign to do lactose free for a bit cause he can't handle the milk....causes gas/stomach issues even though he does not have an issue with all dairy.

Re: What would you do

I would just start with the milk. I went cold turkey with my DD, never did a slow transition. She was ok. Chat Icon

DD will be 1 on thurs (2/7) and she has been on full milk since the weekend....we started her about 2 weeks ago. Doctor gave me the OK at her 10 month appt (she was almost 11 months at the time)
