Thailand - Help Please

My husband and I are planning a trip to Thailand for our 3 year anniversary.

Any suggestions, hotels, best time to travel, travel agents, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Thailand - Help Please

We are looking at a combo trip - 1/2 beach 1/2 city and touristy type things. Our budget is pretty much open as well. We'd like to spend a few nights in a fancy hotel, few nights in a beach bungalow, etc.

I appreciate your advice!

Re: Thailand - Help Please

Phuket has the best beaches I've ever been to, including Hawaii and Bora bora. Phi Phi Islands (where the movie the Beach was filmed) was breathtaking.

Thailand also has the best spas in the world. I LOVED LOVED LOVED the Oriental Spa and Banyan Tree spas in Bangkok.

The temples make an amazing photo shoot but I wasn't all that impressed when I actually visited.

I'd also recommend the night and weekend markets. I bought a lot of junk that I've never used but it was fun nonetheless.

I would highly recommend traveling in the winter time as it gets super hot in the summer. Thailand has 2 seasons - hot and super hot. I did travel to SE asia in July once and it wasn't THAT bad but I think it was because I was expecting it to be scorching hot.

FM me if you have any questions. I've been to Thailand on vacation 3x.

Re: Thailand - Help Please

I would do Bangkok or Chang Mai. I'm more of a Bangkok fan myself but some people hate the city. I have disagree with Bridex100 and thought the temples were stunning. Wat Pho and The Royal Palace are spectacular. The Temple of the Golden Buddha was one of the most serene places I've ever experienced.

Never been to Phuket but have been to Krabi and Khao Lak. Both are about 2 hours from Phuket. Very serene. Gorgeous beaches. Amazing snorkeling /diving in the Similan Islands.

FM if you have an questions. I also have some great hotel recs if you care for them
