Temporary license plate expired, now what?
We bought a car June 1, in New Jersey. Dealership "took care" of registering the car. Told us they would fed ex us the plates when they got them. They gave us a temporary license plate with the car (good for 20 days). It expires tomorrow. Still do not have plates, the dealership doesn't even have them yet. They told us they can't issue us another temporary plate. They said it's not their fault NY DMV is slow. Should we not drive the car anymore? Should we demand the dealership issue another temporary? Any advice? Thanks!

Is there something special about the plates? Anytime I have gotten a new car (where I wasn't transferring plates) the dealership just went to the local DMV and picked them up that day. Can you tell them to go to DMV in person on Monday?

We are waiting on new plates too....they had said 4 weeks when I ordered the new ones when renewing DH's registration.....that was over 6 weeks ago. They must not be able to make the new ones fast enough!!
