I was really nervous about it but when I told her she was like oh I already know because all you have been eating is crackers and drinking ginger ale. Lol. She made it a lot less stressful than I thought it was going to be.

Re: Telling your boss your pg

I have found the when I tell most people, they already know. One thing I realized is that people are happy for you - even though I was nervous to tell my principal - she was so happy about it!

How far along did you guys tell?

I'm 14 weeks so I think I am pushing up against my limit. Also - I think the weight gain is undeniable at this point...I'm usually thin.

Re: Telling your boss your pg

One of my coworkers asked me at 10 weeks so that was when I told my boss. It was much earlier than I had planned but I was soooo iill and getting sick 3-4 times a day in the office ladies room so it was a bit difficult to hide.

I was 14 wks when I told too, it was a little obvious that i was bloated a bit, but i told my new principal via email and my reasoning for not telling her earlier was that i wanted to get the "all clear" from my doc!

good luck! I'm sure ur boss will be happy for u - then it will feel great that u can talk about the baby with anyone in the office!

Good luck - I'm already anxious over this and I have at least 2 more weeks to go.

Let us know how it goes! I'm sure it'll be fine, it's just the whole anticipation Chat Icon

Re: Telling your boss your pg

I told my boss right at 5 weeks. She has been on this infertility journey with me since the beginning, so she deserved to know right away.

Everyone else found out last week and they were all extremely happy for me.

Re: Telling your boss your pg

I had 5 people in my office to tell and I told each of them at a different time for different reasons.

I just told the last one the other day at 14 weeks. When I walked into her office her eyes went straight to my belly, so when I told her she said "I thought so!"

ETA: I was sooo nervous telling too! But for no reason, because everyone was so nice and supportive.

I had to tell my principal at 6 weeks, only bc I was bleeding and was a mess. If that hadn't happened, I probably would have told her around now (13 1/2 weeks)

I was nervous, but I had been working at my job for literally the WHOLE length of my pregnancy ( I conceived between intervviews actuallyChat Icon ). they were supportive, i told them by asking for a copy of our insurance provider book (so i could find a dr.). They were relieved...they thought I was quitting.Chat Icon

I am nervous too. I am not sure why but I guess it is normal. I will probably tell in a few more weeks. I am 11 weeks today.

Re: Telling your boss your pg

im also really anxious about this......i interviewed and got my job before i found out i was pregnant, but found out within the first few weeks of starting the job. my dr is encouraging me to tell sooner due to the field i work in, but its so hard. one of the secretaries actually already guessed it, i can't lie, so of course i smiled and turned bright red, but didn't confirm it. so i really need to tell them, maybe tomorrow---we haven't even told family yet!
