tell me it gets better

I'm having a very bad time adjusting to our move.
We just moved from a 1b apt to a 2b apt in the same complex. Our old apt was in an area where it was quiet and private. Our new apt is in an area where there is less privacy and very active.
Before we were on the top floor and now we are on the bottom. its better for dd but i just feel so sad. I look out my back door and I can see into the next building..before I just had a tree .
I'm trying to hang up my pictures to make it feel more like home.
I hope it gets better...its only 1 year lease.

Re: tell me it gets better

It will get better, I promise! We moved back in March and I anticipated this move for almost 2 years but the minute I was in the new house, I was sad. It didn't feel like home, the area was different, the sounds were different. Even though, I couldn't feel comfortable there for about 2-3 weeks. Now, it's home. With some decorating and living in it, I don't even miss our old house. There is much more room and the neighbors are great. Just give it sometime and I know things will get better. Do what you can to make it feel more cozy, that really helped me. You said you are starting to decorate so that's a start! In no time, you will adjust. Chat Icon

it will... you, Dh and DD will MAKE it a home! Its just an adjustment, you get so used to one place, change can be hard. Think about why you moved, I am assuming its cause you needed another bedroom and more space for DD? If so, focus on how much better it is and what you gained by moving Chat Icon
