tell me about jericho?
We currently live in Oceanside and I'm definitely looking to be on the north shore, Great Neck and Roslyn are just right now a little too pricey for us, so was wondering what you knew about Jericho!

As far as i know its a wonderful area, i have never heard a bad thing about it. Dh's cousins lived their, she raised her kids there but moved out a few years ago because they are grown and the taxes are high.
I would be shocked to hear negative things about that town.

I know the school system is supposed to be great, but how is the shopping area etc...is there a town feel to it, for instance I feel that Oceanside isn "towny" there isn't a cute main street like Great Neck has etc...

Jericho is an expensive area. The schools are excellent but there isn't a main street.
There are plenty of shopping centers and strip malls though.

Like the other poster said, Jericho is a very expensive area. I don't think you will find a decent home there under $500K for sure. School district is at the top of the Island.
There is no "main street" for shopping, but there are a few shopping centers.
I work in Jericho and the only downside I can say is, Jericho Tpke and 106/107 is a disaster with Traffic.

I think Jericho is one of the top school districts on LI, there isn't anything bad to say abuot that area, good luck!!!!

it's def not as crazy $$$$ as Great Neck and Roslyn which are still ridiculous even in this economy
