Team Green Ladies
DH and I are Team , but we just found out I'll have to go under general anesthesia when I have my c-section. It's really important that we find out the baby's gender together, which obviously is not an option the day of delivery anymore. So if you were forced to find out the gender, when would you want to? Right now we're thinking we'll do a spin off of the gender reveal party someone did on here (I'm sorry, I forget who ). Instead of having a party we were thinking of doing it at my baby shower as a complete surprise to everyone. But then part of me thinks it would be easier to find out earlier and change some of our registry items to be more gender specific. And part of me thinks we should wait until as late as possible in the pregnancy, but if I should for some reason go early that might not work. WWYD?

DH and I were team green and I wound up having to go under general anesthesia. DH found out first then I found out when I came out of recovery. Was so out of it I didn't even know what happened.
Not sure how you should reveal. What about staying team green for just the two of you. FInd out a little b4 you're supposed to go in just you and DH and then this way you can still go ahead and tell everyone "It's a XX" when the baby arrives.
Either that or do it b4 the Shower so you can get gender specific stuff. EIther way I always think it's nice for the two of you to find out first on your own

Re: Team Green Ladies
thats tough...
my sisters friend did the baby shower idea.. they still regitstered for all gender neutral stuff... but when the hall was decorated it was all blue ... so she knew when she walked in that it was a boy...
i think i wuold want it to be more private... maybe have the dr write it down and a day or two before your due date go out to dinner with DH and then open the envelope?

What if you have them write it on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope, for the two of you, saying what you are having and then the morning of surgery you can open it together so it is just the two of you. Then when you wake up from the c-section you can tell everyone together.

Re: Team Green Ladies
Hmm, I'm not sure what we'd do. I would hate for DH to find out without me, but I think it would be pretty cool to have him be the one to tell me when I wake up!!! I know that my best friend was team green and she had to go under general anesthesia for an emergency c and when she woke up her husband told her you have a son! She didn't seem disappointed at all by finding out that way. He didn't go out to see the family until she woke up.
If I didn't feel that way I think that I'd stay team green to everyone else and at the last sonogram before delivery we'd find out together. Maybe have them write it on a piece of paper and open it over dinner or desert.
It's become so special to us now, that I'd try to keep it going for as long as possible.

This is what I was going to suggest. IF you wanted to be team green why change that?
Also if you plan on having more kids wy change your registry to reflect this child's gender. I never understood why people would (For example) register for everything pink if they were having a girl IF they want to have more kids. That either means if #2 is a boy, the poor kid is going to be in everything pink OR you have to buy all new stuff...

Re: Team Green Ladies
Thanks for the ideas ladies! I really like the idea of doing it the morning of surgery. I mentioned it to DH and we're definitely considering it.
