Team Green , Gear, 2 under 2 combined question
DH and I plan on staying this time around . Our DD is almost 17 months and all of her gear(stroller, car seat, etc) has a pink, grey, purple color scheme. In figuring out a budget with DH last night on what we would need and want to spend(Britax Double stroller is a must have); we were going back and forth regarding an infant car seat. (For those of you that know the Britax system you can only use the Britax infant car seat).
I think that is something we should have prior to delivery (car seat). DH thinks we should wait until after once we find out the sex. I don't want to send my parents out again picking up stuff once we pop(felt so bad for my dad last time going from store to store since DD came early).
What would you do?

I would buy something close to you giving birth and keep it in the box if it needs to be returned =)

We have the britax B-ready,,,is that the one you're talking about?
When we had dd, now 18 months, we bought everything neutral colors as far as stroller, car seat, swings, expensive toys, just in case dc2 was a boy. Well dd2 is on her way.

As for getting a new car seat, just use the one you have. Your few day old baby won't care if he's a boy and in a pink car seat. Also, instead of buying a whole new car seat, just. Swap out the fabric or buy a cover to make it boyish if it's a boy.

I would just just the old car seat at first and if you end up with a boy you can always get a new one after he's born. Otherwise I would buy the new one and not open it unless you need it.

I'd reuse the car seat regardless. I've had 2 daughters in a "boyish" car seat and nobody cares. Is rather put the $$ in the bank or use it for diapers, clothes, etc.

Most manufactures off replacement covers for the carseat...I would go with that or just use what you have. The baby won't care at all.

Team Green , Gear, 2 under 2 combined question
I have 2 under 2 and was team green for both I would not get another car seat. I would contact the manufacturer to see if you can just get a new cover...but I would still wait until baby arrives before doing that. The baby won't know the difference and no one really sees the baby in the car seat

My friend just had a boy after 3 girls and uses the pink infant seat. No biggie. Everyone knows she had a boy. I wouldn't waste my $$ on a new one unless expired. Just make sure you have a blue balnket or boy cover (bumdle me, canopy etc) and no one will aby an eye. As for the Britax I have the britax b ready and used a leg Preggo infant seat with the adapter for it.

I used a Chico Keyfit with a snap and go for dd. We used the britax with the stroller seat.
This time around I actually bought the britax car seat so I have more options for seating in the stroller as a double. I also bought the lower infant car seat adapter so I can use the britax seat on the bottom and dd can stay in the main stroller seat, but it can switch both. I got a great deal in the britax car seat bc they are discontinuing this bsafe for a new version, so it was just over $100. Well worth it to have all the options as a double. Them when dd1 gets bigger I have the stroller board so she can stand and ride.

ITA with this you can get new fabric for the infant seat after the baby is born

Use the car seat you have. I was also team green for #2 and ended up having a girl (my first was a boy). Her pack and play sheets, bath towels, blankets, swaddles, etc. are all blue. I am not spending the money on pink stuff. You use the baby stuff for such a short amount of time its not even worth it.

Why not buy a gender neutral one and keep it in the box and receipt. You can always return it.

2 under 2 here. We were team green both times. Baby #1 is a girl. Baby #2 is a boy. My 4 month old DS is sitting in his sister's pink bouncer as I type.

Considering how expensive babies are i would not even think about buying a new car seat. I would use what i have. And if anythinh contact the manufacturer for a new cover. Other than that if it was me id rather put the $ towards necessities and clothes :)
Btw theres attachments so you can use any manufacturers car seat. I have the b ready. Ive always used britax car seats but my friend used graco car seat with hers.
