Teal pumpkin project
If you participate, do you keep the bowl aside and let the child ask? I’m going to get a teal bowl and put a teal pumpkin outside as well. I ordered allergen free sun butter cup candy and it’s quite pricy so I don’t want to give out to just anyone.

I usually have everything mixed in the same bowl, but my teal pumpkin items are usually pretty cheap--pencils, glow bracelets, stickers so I have enough that even the children without allergies could choose one if they prefer.

We have two containers, and let the kids pick. A lot of kids pick from the non-allergen selection, even if they don't have any allergies.

We have two containers. But, we usually are out trick or treating so I leave them on my front stoop. I keep the non candy items separate.

Re: Teal pumpkin project
Please don't mix them up in the same bowl, especially if you're offering candy for the teal option. Too much risk of cross contamination - the peanut item opens getting residue on the outside of the safe items and then you get a reaction.

Re: Teal pumpkin project
I decided to do this this year. i bought dollar store stuff: bubbles, pencils, stickers. I didnt bother finding allergy safe candy b/c its expensive and I dont think we get that many kids who need it.
