Teaching boys to pee standing up?
DS is potty trained and has been for about 4 months---but he sits to pee. It has never been a problem for us as we have little potties and 'guards' on the ring seats too. He knows to point his guy down. Well, today he started school, which went great, except he sat on their potty and peed all over the place. They have what looks like a short to the ground public toilet seat. Should I teach him to stand? I am not even sure how to teach him. DH really isn't home enough to teach him, although DS does know he stands. The reason I was holding off is we are still working on pulling down and pulling up pants/underwear on his own and I didn't want him to trip or fall off a step stool he would need to reach out toilet at home. Help!

Re: Teaching boys to pee standing up?
For us, having DS learn to pee standing up was great. Made things so much easier for him and I feel like it helped move him along in terms of going on his own.
I make sure he has pants that are easy to pull up and down at school so that it doesn't cause a problem.
As far as teaching..DH did that but I do know that he showed him how to lean in towards the toilet to avoid peeing on his clothing and the bowl. I'll ask him what he did to teach him.
I finally got him to get into the habit of wiping down the toilet after he pees and flushing each time.
