taxes in ronkonkoma
we went to look at a house & the taxes were listed as 5,000. it is not a big house & doesn't have much work done to it. isnt 5k kinda high for ronk?

No, we're looking at mostly 3 bedroom ranches in Ronkonkoma and I haven't seen any as low as $5,000. Some have been as high as $9,000. even 2 bedroom homes I have not seen taxes below $5000.

That's low - when we were searching, we loved to see taxes below $5K, and only saw them in Rocky Pt and Ronkonkoma.

Each house was different, but we saw one house in Rocky Pt that was $3K in taxes w/Star and he showed us his tax bill to prove it to us cause even we didn't believe it.

I live in Holbrook and BEFORE star I pay $6,500 and AFTER I pay $5,300. I have less than a 1/4 acre-3 bedroom, 1 bath ranch.

Check not only STAR, but, to see if the owner is a Veteran. That, also, brings it down quite a bit.
