Tax Sheltered Annuities
Can someone tell me a little about them?
I have a list of agents I can call and I don't know what I should be asking or looking for.

Re: Tax Sheltered Annuities
DH said if you're definately referring to Tax Sheltered Annuities they are similar to a 401K - contributions are taken from pre-tax earnings directly from your paycheck and the growth is tax deferred. You can't generally take the money out before 59-1/2 years of age without tax penalties. Usually only available to teachers or those working for a non-profit organization.
If you meant Tax Deferred Annuities that's a different story.

Re: Tax Sheltered Annuities
DH is a bank manager. He said he knows about that, but can't legally talk about them since he isn't licensed. But if you want more information, FM me and I can give you the info for someone at his branch who is licensed.

Re: Tax Sheltered Annuities
Two additional things DH mentioned was that you may want to look for the option that offers the biggest variety of investments and a broker that makes you feel comfortable - don't let anyone push you into something that doesn't seem right. Ask about fees as they relate to the investment option and any fees the broker charges too.
