Target HPTs Updated
UPDATE: Well ladies I took a total of 8 HPTs I got 4 positive and 4 negative but I went to the doctor today for bw and my results came back negative. I'm not going to lie...I was sad...it would have been nice to get pregnant naturally. But I have come to terms with it...we weren't trying and DD is only 9 weeks old. I'll keep letting nature take it's course and hopefully one day we will be blessed again. Thanks for all your thoughts!
What are the chances of having evap lines on the tests. I bought a pack of two and the first one I took had the faintest of faint lines. My sister saw it too. The second one had another faint line....DH saw it.
I can't believe I actually am posting this. DD is only 8 weeks old and I thought AF had showed but apparently not. I just had some spotting for one day. I'm not sure if I should buy another brand of test. When I say the lines are faint they are very very faint but from someone whose had 100's of negative pregnancy tests these looked somewhat positive but I've never used Target tests before.
I'm in shock since we had to do IVF to get pregnant with DD after 8 years of marriage and no BC. I don't want to jinx myself and I don't want to start saying I'm preggo if I'm not. I feel like I am but then part of me is like you are hallucinating LOL. It's just weird because I honestly thought I had AF. My periods were pretty regular before having DD.

Re: Target HPTs
IMHO, I thnk you are pg but it's very early.......meaning you caught it very early and that's why it's so faint. I got my first period when Dd was 6 weeks old and got pg 2 weeks after that. i tested twice and they were both neg. 2 days later I tested again and the line was so faint. Long story short I am 30 weeks pg.
You may not be, but I think you are!

Re: Target HPTs
OK I checked the tests again this morning and both had visible lines. I know you are not supposed to read a test after 10 minutes but with my other HPTs the lines stood on the test till this day from February. What are the chances that both tests will give me evaps? They were in the same pack. I'm waiting to go to the bathroom again to take a FRER that my sister bought me. I'm so nervous right now but I feel like AF is coming any minute.

Re: Target HPTs
With this pregnancy, I had the faintest lines on the HPTs too. I didn't really think I was pregnant because they came up light and after the 3 minutes wait. I'm almost 27 weeks now.

Re: Target HPTs
I used Target brand hpt's for my last pregnancy. I hadn't gotten by AF at all for 21 months after my second dd was born. The only indication that I thought I was pregnant was that I had been very sick. I had very faint lines the first two tests that I took the third came up negative and when I went to my ob they confirmed that I was preggo. My son is a little over two now, I would assume your pregnant.

So how do you calculate your Due date if AF never showed. I can pinpoint the day it happened since it was only once. TMI Sorry

Re: Target HPTs
My understanding is that even if it is the faintest line, you are pregnant because it means that you have the pregnancy hormone in you. It is very rare to have a false positive on those tests.

Re: Target HPTs
You very well could be.
A family friend had three rounds of IVF the last resulting in a full term stillborn
She went on to have three spontaneous pregnancies w/o any drugs or procedures. She's a mom of 3 under 4.
The pg could have just "jump started" your system. It's happened to a few women we know who have had IVF.

Re: Target HPTs
i know it might be completely overwhelming news for you, but how wonderful! faint lines, TWICE?? i would go with a positive!
meltoddjulia i remember had THE fainitest lines- i think she had said it was because the hormone (hcg) was there but very low....shell have to confirm that, but im pretty sure thats what happened!
go to the DR and let us know!!!
good luck!
what a God send...He has a way of working things out!!

Re: Target HPTs
OK ladies I took a CVS test and see a faint line....super duper faint but DH saw it too and he's blind LOL. I didn't see anything on the FRER but I had just peed before I took it....sorry TMI. I won't have a computer for like a week which is going to kill me. I don't know how I'm going to not function if I can't get on here Send me some speedy Dell shipment vibes
I'm not keeping my hopes up yet. If I get another faint line tomorrow I'm calling the dr. I honestly cannot believe that this MAY even be happening to me. Then that means I will be part of the 2 under 1 club

Re: Target HPTs
Is it possible that you have hormones still in your body from your previous pregnancy that would make the tests have a faint line?

I was wondreing that too but DD will be 9 weeks old on Wed....I thought that the hormones go away within the first few weeks. I could be wrong though.

Re: Target HPTs
I would call your doctor tomorrow and ask them. They'll probably tell you to come in but I say go.
From my understanding - any line is a positive line even if faint.

Re: Target HPTs
most websites say that your HcG levels should be less than 5 at 4-6 weeks after birth, but www.healthatoz.com said this:
Abnormal results
In most cases, a positive result is an indication of pregnancy. However, false positive results may also occur. If a pregnancy test is performed within a month or two of a recent birth or miscarriage, it is possible to test positive for pregnancy since hCG may still be detected in a woman's urine. Sometimes positive pregnancy tests provide clues of an early miscarriage that might have otherwise gone unrecognized because it occurred before or just after a missed period. An ectopic pregnancy (one in which an embryo implants outside the uterus), certain types of masses (such as an ovarian tumor or a hydatidiform mole), and the use of some fertility drugs that contain hCG are among other possibilities behind false positive results.
definitely call your doctor for a beta!!

Re: Target HPTs Updated
sounds like it was a chemical PG, which for someone who couldnt get PG is a good thing, because you did, it just didnt stick. So even though this isnt your time, I still say its a good sign
