Talking to the LO

Do any of you talk to your tummy or do your DH's talk to your belly? If so, what do you say? Also, do you play music for the baby? What kind?

Re: Talking to the LO

We both talk to the baby every single day... My hubby will say things like hi its daddy! I love you so much! And will call her cute nicknames and stuff... I say the ABC's, 123's... I tell her how much I love her and how beautiful she is... How happy I am to have her in my belly... Things like that... And sometimes I tell her about our crazy families! LOL And I just started with music...

Re: Talking to the LO

I haven't really said anything to him. I have thought about playing music, but don't know what to play..I feel like it needs to be perfect. Maybe I'll download some Mozart.Chat Icon DH has talked to my tummy though. At first, he didn't know what to say and felt akward, but once he started to talk, the baby was kicking him and moving so much so now he talks all the time. The first thing he said to my belly, as his face was laying on it, was "There are going to be plenty of times where you want to kick me in the face, so now is your chance." Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Talking to the LO

I don't really talk to her, just hold and rub her. Dh will talk to her occasionally but it's only like "hi lia... Can't wait to see you". My mom on the other hand will go crazy on her and chew her little ear off like she does to me Chat Icon

Eta: haven't played music for her yet but will be buying some of the rockabye baby cd's soon and start sharing them with her

Re: Talking to the LO

We both talk to her a little every day. DH says things like- hi, my little butterfly, daddy loves you. I’ll say things like- hey mama, I love you…Or, if I eat something that I prob shouldn’t, I’ll apologize to her.

Re: Talking to the LO

I talk to her all the time. DH talks to her sometimes. I find myself talking to her when she is moving, like "what are you doing in there? Water aerobics?" I also tell her that I love her and how spoiled she is going to be. I also play her classical music, I try to put headphones on my belly for an hour or so a couple times a week.

Re: Talking to the LO

I talk to our baby a little bit, usually when rubbing my belly. I'll say things like, "hi baby, mommy loves you!" or, "kick once if you're a boy, twice if you're a girl." Chat Icon I haven't played music directly to my belly, but the baby hears music all the time in my car...just probably not the right kind! DH doesn't talk to my belly as much, but he will rub it and kiss it.

Not yet, but if the way I talk to my dog is any indication, the baby will be very used to my and DH's voices by the time its born. Chat Icon
