Taking Antobiotics
Have any of you had to take antibiotics during you pregnancy?
I am extremely sick and have a doctors appt this afternoon and I think I am going to need medication. But I am very nervous about taking anything.

I've had to take two rounds of Macrobid for bladder infections in the course of one month. After discussing my concerns with the doctor, he assured me that what he was prescribing would not harm the baby in any way.

I took Macrobid as well for a UTI. The doctor said it was fine. My sister took Amoxicillan when she was pregnant.

I had a UTI very early in my pregnancy. I can't remember what they gave me, but there are definitely pregnancy-safe antibiotics out there.

I had a bad sinus infection last week. My dr. put me on the Z-pack. My OB said the Z-pack is safe for pregnant women. Feel better!

I took the Z-pack 2 weeks ago for an upper respitory infection. Feel better

Yes, I had to take something for an ear infection. I read about antibiotics online, and it sounds as if the penicillin derivative ones aren't so bad for baby.
Ask your OB before you take anything. And don't feel bad about taking them if she/he says they are okay. You need to be healthy for the baby!

I took a Z-pac for a sinus infection a few weeks ago. I probably waited too long to go to the doctor b/c I did not want to take anything. Z-pacs have not even worked for me in the past but this time it worked.
