Taking a one week - 2 week old out and about?

I have a new delicious little baby boyChat Icon and also have a 3 1/2 year old with cabin fever.

I was thinking I might venture out this week to the park with both of them - he just turned one week - what do you think? is it okay if I take them early in the morning and keep him in the stroller?

Also its my DH's birthday this coming weekend when DS will turn 2 weeks would I be nuts to take him to a restaurant for lunch? probably would right?

It was so diffrent last time around as it was only my DD but now I have to consider her.

Any advice?

I've taken Yael to restaurants, stores, the mall, playground and Alex's school since she was 1 week old! And I'm heading to trader joe's with her in 10 minutes Chat Icon

I would take your 2 week old and preschooler to the park. That should be fine. I would probably avoid really crowded spots with poor air ventilation (like the mall), but walks or parks should be fine.

I would take them to the park, it should be fine. I did that with my LO when I wanted to get out. I would skip the restaurant, an enclosed space with lots of people, but that's just me.

Thanks everyone. I think I will take them to the park in the morning - it will probably take us half the day to get out the doorChat Icon

I think my sister can babysit the little fella on sunday now so we might be able to avoid the restaurant.

The Ped told me to avoid any indoor areas for 3 months!!! and that meant to parties, restaurants, malls etc.

I took both of mine out very early. I'd say about 1-2 weeks. I know some people avoid closed places for several months but we didn't.
